A mosaic is an artistic technique that uses tiny parts to create a big image.
The Romans used mosaics to decorate the buildings.

The floors of Roman buildings were often decorated with mosaics - tiny coloured stones (tesserae).
Many mosaics captured scenes of history and everyday Roman life.
Some mosaics represented animals.
Another ones represented a God or a Goddess.

Rich Romans decorated the floors of their main rooms with mosaics. Each mosaic used thousands of pieces to make a pattern.
Today we are going to make a mosaic. Choose an object, an animal, a person...etc. and try to do a mosaic.
